<p>Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) is seeking to appoint a part-time (0.4 FTE) Community Engagement Officer – Schools &amp; Churches, based in greater Brisbane.</p> <p>In this dynamic role you will support Lutheran school communities to engage with issues of global justice, poverty,&nbsp;displacement&nbsp;and development. Working primarily through teachers, you will support the delivery of ALWS curriculum units, develop supporting educational resources and facilitate professional development sessions for teachers. You will also contribute to student engagement through the delivery of workshops and&nbsp;devotions in schools.&nbsp;</p> <p>In this role you will also engage with Lutheran church communities, helping congregations connect faith with action and inspiring people to respond in love through advocacy&nbsp;and fundraising.&nbsp;</p> <p>This position will suit someone who builds strong relationships with educators and church leaders, communicates with warmth and confidence, and enjoys equipping others to lead local action.&nbsp;</p> <p>The successful candidate will possess exemplary communication skills and demonstrated experience/understanding of the Australian Curriculum and working with teachers. An understanding of the Lutheran Church and Lutheran schooling system is highly desirable.&nbsp;</p> <p>Applications close 22 May 2026.
