Pittwater House is seeking a TAS Teaching Assistant to provide operational and administrative support to the Faculty
<p>Pittwater House is seeking a TAS Teaching Assistant to provide operational and administrative support to the Technologies and Applied Studies (TAS) Faculty. This is a full-time, term-time only position, working closely with teaching staff to ensure practical learning environments are safe, well-resourced, and prepared for high-quality teaching and learning.</p>
<p>The Role</p>
<p>The TAS Teaching Assistant supports the effective operation of TAS learning spaces, including food technology kitchens, workshops, textiles rooms, and associated preparation areas. The role is central to the smooth running of practical lessons and requires strong organisation, attention to detail, and a proactive, collaborative approach.</p>
<p>Key responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Supporting TAS teachers with preparation, setup, and pack-down of practical lessons</li>
<li>Managing resources, purchasing, stock control, and inventories across TAS areas</li>
<li>Preparing ingredients, materials, and equipment for food technology lessons</li>
<li>Ensuring compliance with WHS, food safety, and safe food handling standards</li>
<li>Maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and safety of all TAS classrooms and preparation spaces</li>
<li>Assisting with equipment checks, reporting faults, and maintaining workshop readiness</li>
<li>Providing general administrative and faculty support as required</li>
</ul>
<p>About You</p>
<p>The successful applicant will demonstrate:</p>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of food safety and safe food handling practices</li>
<li>Understanding of WHS requirements in an educational setting</li>
<li>Strong organisational and time management skills</li>
<li>High-level interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively</li>
<li>Attention to detail, particularly in compliance and stock control</li>
<li>Initiative, flexibility, and the ability to manage competing priorities</li>
<li>Competence with general ICT systems and digital documentation</li>
</ul>
<p>This role will operate Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 4.00pm during term time only (38 weeks per year).</p>
