<p>Illawarra Zone Sports represents a group of Christian schools that work together to provide sporting opportunities for their students. Illawarra Zone Sports is made up of the following schools:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Calderwood Christian School&nbsp;</li> <li>Cedars Christian College&nbsp;</li> <li>Illawarra Christian School&nbsp;</li> <li>Nowra Christian School&nbsp;</li> <li>Shellharbour Anglican College&nbsp;</li> <li>Snowy Mountains Christian School&nbsp;</li> <li>Southern Highlands Christian School&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Illawarra Zone Sports Coordinator</strong>&nbsp;</p> <p>A permanent part-time 0.4 FTE position exists for a teacher to provide leadership and coordination of all zone participants throughout the Illawarra region.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong> Key Responsibilities:</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Management and events coordination&nbsp;</li> <li>Lead a team in the management of events and carnivals&nbsp;</li> <li>Coordinating staff from various schools&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Carry out risk assessments for carnivals and gala days&nbsp;</li> <li>Supervision and instructions of staff and students&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee the administration and organisation of carnivals and gala days&nbsp;</li> <li>Booking of venues  &nbsp;</li> <li>Creating, communicating and reviewing risk assessments&nbsp;</li> <li>Creating permission note templates&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Liaising with sports coordinators at each school, distributing documents for individual school branding and distribution at their schools&nbsp;</li> <li>Communicating results in a timely manner along with any ribbons/trophies  &nbsp;</li> <li>Facilitate and lead zone sports meetings   &nbsp;</li> <li>Sending team entries to the State Convenor  &nbsp;</li> <li>Create an instruction manual on how to organise each event for future convenors&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The successful applicant will be required to be a qualified trained teacher and will report and function out of the closest local Zone School (if not already attached to one of the existing zone participants).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The position will commence early January 2026, in line with the local zone schools term dates.&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>How to apply:&nbsp;</p> <p>To learn more about Cedars Christian College and to apply, please visit our website: www.cedars.nsw.edu.au, click on ‘Employment’ and follow the ‘Current Employment Opportunities’ link to complete and submit a ‘Teaching Staff Application Form’ along with supporting documentation. &nbsp;</p> <p>Applicants must be committed Christians, active in their own church and are also required to provide a Working with Children Check (WWCC) Number.&nbsp;</p>
