We are seeking a permanent, full-time Head of Library and Information Services 7-12 to join our team. This role will be commencing in Term 1 2026. This role reports to the Director of Curriculum and Learning P-12.

This role will be commencing in Term 1 2026. This role reports to the Director of Curriculum and Learning P-12. &nbsp;</p> <p>The Head of Library and Information Services 7-12 will manage and oversee the operation of the School’s libraries. This will include: develop and manage the Library Educational Program; oversee the administrative functions of the library; supervise and assist students with their research needs; and manage library staff.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You Will Do&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Identify and evaluate the ICT needs of the libraries in close cooperation with the Learning Technologies Coordinator and the Hillingdon and Fiona Librarians and introduce information resources and technologies appropriate to the learning and teaching needs in the school&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop and manage the Library Educational Program and Library Policy to support teachers with curriculum planning, and all teaching and student users with skill development in locating, selecting and using efficiently materials and equipment&nbsp;</li> <li>Work collaboratively with colleagues and manage library staff&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee the Academic Honesty policy and administer annual testing of student knowledge in academic honesty, referencing and rules around plagiarism&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee the administrative functions of the Library including scheduling and supervision of library staff, devising systems for the acquisition, cataloguing, circulation and maintenance of materials and equipment, textbook ordering and organisation, and submitting reports.&nbsp;</li> <li>Manage and administer the Library budget, including annual planning and evaluation processes&nbsp;</li> <li>Encourage and sustain enthusiastic use of the Library by students, staff and parents through activities and events&nbsp;</li> <li>Co-ordinate Annual Prize Giving&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee School Archivist and School archives&nbsp;</li> <li>Deliver information, research and reading skills lessons to all Year 7 classes&nbsp;</li> <li>Supervise and assist students with their research needs in DalÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Study periods in the Library&nbsp;</li> <li>Manage the provision of materials, equipment and technical services&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Perform other duties as required.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You Will Bring&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Tertiary qualification in Librarianship&nbsp;</li> <li>Proven leadership and administration skills&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Enthusiasm for technology integration&nbsp;</li> <li>Knowledge of current technology in education and collection management systems&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively at all levels&nbsp; to inspire both students and staff&nbsp;</li> <li>Membership of professional associations such as ASLA – Australian Schools Library Association and ALIA – Australian Library and Information Association (<i>desirable</i>)&nbsp;</li> <li>A valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) and First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Interested?&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Further information, including a position description for this role is available at <a href="https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham" rel="nofollow"><u>https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham</u></a> &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>If this sounds like you, please <strong>apply via </strong><a href="https://www.seek.com.au/job/87908920?ref=cm-ui" rel="nofollow"><strong>SEEK</strong></a> no later than <strong>11.59pm on Friday 31 October 2025</strong>.
