Our schools are places of learning, connection, and growth, guided by the values of Wisdom, Justice, Courage, Compassion, and Love.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The Position:</strong></p> <p>The <strong>Education Officer Numeracy &amp; Mathematics</strong> plays a key role in strengthening numeracy and mathematics education across Catholic schools in the Northern Territory. Reporting to the Leader Teaching and Learning, this position works collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, and system staff to enhance whole-school numeracy approaches, build teacher capacity, and improve learning outcomes. Providing high-level support across Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools and regional and urban contexts, the role focuses on evidence-based practice in Mathematics and STEM to ensure every learner has the opportunity to thrive.</p> <p>This is a full-time permanent position commencing 13 January 2026.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p><strong>As Education Officer Numeracy &amp; Mathematics, you will;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist Principals, teachers, and support staff in Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools, regional, and urban primary and secondary schools to use data to support the development of targets, actions, and measures to improve numeracy outcomes for students.</li> <li>Support schools in the development of curriculum and planning Mathematics assessments.</li> <li>Build teachers' capacity in effective, culturally responsive, evidence-based strategies for explicit teaching of numeracy in their discipline area and across the curriculum to improve student outcomes.</li> <li>Facilitate Tier 1 support through asynchronous learning, team teaching, collaborative planning, and both formal and informal professional development opportunities for classroom teachers.</li> </ul> <p>Full details are outlined in the <strong>position description within the Application Package</strong>.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><i><strong>About you:</strong></i></p> <p>We are looking for an Education Officer who:</p> <ul> <li>A willingness to support the culture and Catholic ethos of CENT.</li> <li>Demonstrated high-level organisational, analytical, and conceptual skills.</li> <li>Proven experience in leadership and collaborative team environments.</li> <li>Significant teaching experience with a track record of excellence in numeracy/mathematics instruction and improved learner outcomes.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in using data to inform school targets and improvement strategies.</li> <li>In-depth understanding of current pedagogical best practice in numeracy and mathematics education.</li> <li>Strong capacity to design and deliver impactful professional learning for teachers.</li> <li>A sound working knowledge of numeracy and mathematics programs and resources.</li> <li>Willingness and ability to travel to remote Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools (including by 4WD or small aircraft).</li> </ul> <p>This position will involve working with children.
