St Joseph's School is situated in the Mallee region of Victoria. St. Joseph's School was officially blessed and opened on 12th December 1954 with school beginning in 1955 with two Josephite nuns and 68 children, Prep to Year 8. In 1979 the first lay teacher was appointed. The nuns remained teaching in the school in the role of Principal/teacher until 1988 when the first lay Principal was appointed.
A large percentage of the children come from sheep and cereal farms and travel to school each day by bus. The students are divided into two teaching groups, F-2 and 3 - 6. These groupings encourage cross age interaction and socialisation.
