We are inviting applications for a Full-Time Deputy Head of Junior School, commencing Term 1 2026.
<p>Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart, founded in 1882, is a leading Catholic Independent Day and Boarding School located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. The School is co-educational ELC-6, and girls only 7-12.</p>
<p>We are inviting applications for a <strong>Deputy Head of Junior School, commencing in Term 1, 2026.</strong> This position reports to the Head of Junior School and works alongside our current Deputy Head of Junior School. Working closely together and in the Junior School setting (ELC-6), one Deputy Head of Junior School will focus on Wellbeing and Operations (ELC-6), and the other will focus on Teaching and Learning (ELC-6). Areas of responsibility are flexible and will depend on the candidate's skill set.</p>
<p>Collectively, the <strong>key responsibilities </strong>will include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Coordinating and overseeing Positive Education initiatives, administering wellbeing surveys, and developing new initiatives to address emerging needs</li>
<li>Facilitating educationally researched wellbeing programs, providing coaching to staff, and supporting student progress within the school</li>
<li>Leading daily operations, managing community events and other co-curricular offerings</li>
<li>Providing ongoing feedback, modelling best practices, and team-teaching with teachers to embed shared practice</li>
<li>Building strong and productive relationships with students, parents, and staff, including handling confidential matters with care</li>
<li>Leading staff through data analysis, progress tracking, and data-driven decision-making</li>
<li>Leading staff meetings and teaching teams in creating programs and assessments that reflect current educational research and best practices</li>
<li>Managing and working alongside the Diverse Learning Team, Leaders of Learning, and the Religious Education Coordinator to support the curriculum development and the academic needs of each student</li>
<li>Management of the Learning Management System and communication channels</li>
<li>Proactively contribute to the mission and Goals of the Sacred Heart.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>The ideal candidate:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Accredited with NESA to teach in NSW, and with previous extensive teaching experience</li>
<li>Postgraduate qualifications in pedagogy, curriculum, educational leadership, or similar will be highly regarded</li>
<li>Extensive experience and success in a similar leadership role </li>
<li>Passion for and demonstrated commitment to leading excellence through balance</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability in maintaining foundations, whilst implementing strategic and innovative change </li>
<li>Demonstrated capability in leading and inspiring people; creating a culture of high performance, and building capability</li>
<li>Expert communicator across a variety of platforms, with demonstrated capability in developing and maintaining positive working relationships </li>
<li>High-level organisational and administrative skills with proficiency in all standard IT platforms</li>
<li>Current Working With Children Check</li>
<li>Ability to model the five goals of Sacred Heart Education in interactions with students, staff, and parents.</li>
