We are currently seeking a temporary, part-time School Psychologist to cover a parental leave contract commencing 13 October 2025 until 02 April 2026. The role requires 2 days per week in Term 4 2025 with the plan to increase to 4 days per week in Term 1 2026. We can be flexible regarding the days. This is a term time only position.

We&nbsp;can be flexible regarding the days. &nbsp;</p> <p>This is a term time only position.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You Will Do&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support the educational needs, learning, development, welfare and wellbeing of students from Prep to Year 12 at Ascham, including the 130 Boarders&nbsp;</li> <li>Assess the needs of the individual and cohorts of students&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide&nbsp;individual counselling; group programs; and parenting support&nbsp;</li> <li>Prepare student management plans and independent learning plans&nbsp;</li> <li>Prepare referrals to external specialists &nbsp;</li> <li>Facilitate professional learning for staff.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You Will Bring&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Tertiary qualifications in Psychology&nbsp;</li> <li>Professional Psychologist Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or counselling equivalent&nbsp;</li> <li>Eligibility for registration with Australian Psychological Society (APS) and other relevant professional bodies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Previous experience working in school and boarding environments is highly desirable&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to effectively work both independently and within a team, to ensure shared understanding of issues&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to innovate, develop and implement programs which meet students’ needs&nbsp;</li> <li>A commitment to child safety, demonstrating an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children with diverse needs and backgrounds&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to work effectively with highly sensitive and confidential matters&nbsp;</li> <li>A proven capacity to develop trust with students, parents and staff and guide the development and wellbeing of students&nbsp;</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to liaise and provide advice regarding student wellbeing to all levels of the School and to parents, guardians and wellbeing service providers&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.&nbsp;</li> <li>A current First Aid and CPR certificate&nbsp;</li> <li>A valid Working with Children clearance&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Interested?&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Further information, including a position description for this role is available at <a href="https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham" rel="nofollow"><u>https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham</u></a>&nbsp;</p> <p>If this sounds like you, please <strong>apply via </strong><a href="https://www.seek.com.au/job/86960307?ref=cm-ui" rel="nofollow"><strong>SEEK</strong></a> no later than <strong>11.59pm on Friday 19 September 2025</strong>.
