<p><strong>Your unique opportunity</strong></p> <p>We seek an experienced and dedicated&nbsp;<strong>Senior English Secondary Teacher</strong> to join our faith-based community.&nbsp;</p> <p>We are looking for an inspiring educator who can instil a deep appreciation for literature and language in our students, preparing them for both academic success and a life of critical thinking.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>As a Senior English Secondary Teacher, you will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Delivering an engaging and rigorous curriculum that aligns with both QCAA and our school's Christian values.</li> <li>Mentoring students to develop their analytical and creative writing skills.</li> <li>Fostering a classroom environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and a love of reading.</li> <li>Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the department's curriculum and teaching strategies.</li> </ul> <p>Commencing on&nbsp;<strong>16 January 2026</strong>, this position is full-time.</p> <p>Relocation assistance is available.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Skills and experience</strong></p> <p>The successful candidate will bring a strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and pedagogical practice, proven experience teaching senior-level English, with a strong understanding of the QCAA senior syllabus and assessment.</p> <p>The successful candidate will also be fully aligned with the Christian values and beliefs of Freshwater Christian College, and seek a role providing opportunities to utilise their talents and skills to make a difference in the lives of our students and the wider College community.</p> <p><strong>Essential qualifications and requirements</strong></p> <ol> <li>Appropriate tertiary qualifications in teaching.&nbsp;</li> <li>Queensland College of Teachers Registration (or the ability to obtain).</li> <li>Experience teaching Year 11 and 12 Senior English.&nbsp;</li> <li>Be fully aligned with the values, virtues, and Christian beliefs of Freshwater Christian College.</li> <li>Able to affirm the College鈥檚 Statement of Faith.</li> <li>Able to comply with College policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and training requirements, including those related to work health and safety, risk management, child protection, and confidentiality.</li> <li>Able to work with all members of the College community.</li> <li>A willingness to assist in extracurricular activities after normal working hours.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Be legally permitted to work in Australia.</li> </ol> <p><strong>Why Join Our Community?</strong></p> <p>Located in beautiful Cairns, our school offers a tropical lifestyle and a close-knit community.
