Grounded in the Mercy values of compassion, justice, respect, hospitality, service and courage, we are committed to educating girls in the Mercy tradition to make a difference in our changing world.</p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>THE POSITION</strong></p> <p>We are seeking an experienced and passionate <strong>House Leader (POL 3)</strong> to join our Student Engagement and Wellbeing team.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Tenure:</strong> 2-year POL appointment (commencing 2026)</li> <li><strong>Base:</strong> Ongoing teaching contract</li> <li><strong>Time allowance:</strong> 12 periods per week, plus POL allowance $9629 p.a.</li> </ul> <p>The House Leader plays a central role in the pastoral care, academic guidance, and holistic development of students within their House. Working closely with Mentor Group Teachers, the House Leader fosters connection, belonging, and house pride through student wellbeing initiatives, restorative practices, and intra/inter-house programs.</p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p> <p>In addition to being able to continue leading the Primary Purpose and Key responsibilities indicated in the position description, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate sound responses to the following&nbsp;<strong>selection criteria</strong>:</p> <p>Essential:</p> <ul> <li>Tertiary qualifications in Education with evidence of continuous formal learning in a relevant field.</li> <li>Accreditation to Teach RE or Lead in a Catholic School, working towards attainment or preparedness to&nbsp;commence working towards attainment.</li> <li>Highly developed understanding of sustainable positive education practices.</li> <li>Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to lead others.</li> <li>Forward thinking and innovative.</li> <li>Understanding of and commitment to positive education practices.</li> </ul> <p>Desirable:</p> <ul> <li>Experience managing projects and resources.</li> <li>Understanding of Mercy traditions, and capacity to positively advance the mission and Mercy values.</li> </ul> <p>All employees are subject to appropriate employment and compliance checks prior to and during employment.</p> <p>This position requires:</p> <ul> <li>current VIT registration, or</li> <li>current Police Check and Employee Working with Children Check</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>APPLICATION PROCESS</strong></p> <p>Applications must include:</p> <ol> <li>a cover letter clearly addressing the selection criteria above, and</li> <li>a current resume,</li> </ol> <p>and can be addressed to Ms Anna Negro, Principal.</p> <p><strong>Applications close 9.00am Wednesday 1 October 2025</strong></p>
