St Marianne Cope Catholic Primary School is opening in 2026 - and we’re seeking a dedicated and energetic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to build a strong foundation for health and movement in our school community. This is an opportunity to design a PE program from the ground up, creating learning experiences that promote fitness and collaboration, while nurturing the growth of the whole child.

<p><strong>Are you passionate about promoting active lifestyles, teamwork, and wellbeing in young learners?</strong></p> <p>The Physical Education teacher will play a foundational role in establishing and leading the school’s specialist PE program on <strong>Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (.06), commencing Term 1 2026</strong>.&nbsp;</p> <p>This role offers a unique opportunity to design and implement an engaging and inclusive Physical Education program from the ground up — one that promotes movement, builds physical skills, supports wellbeing, resilience and encourages teamwork. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the specialist team, uphold the Catholic ethos of the school, and align their practice with MACS’ Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities - Physical Education Teacher&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build strong, respectful relationships with students, encouraging confidence, participation, and a sense of belonging in all aspects of Physical Education.</li> <li>Plan and deliver a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate Physical Education program for primary-aged students that promotes physical literacy, enjoyment of movement, and lifelong healthy habits.</li> <li>Create engaging and inclusive PE lessons that foster students' physical, social, and emotional wellbeing through a variety of sports, games, and active experiences.</li> <li>Promote positive values such as teamwork, resilience, and respect through structured physical activity.</li> <li>Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all physical activities by adhering to risk management practices and inclusive teaching strategies.</li> <li>Support and contribute to the planning of whole-school events such as athletics carnivals, interschool sports, and wellbeing initiatives.</li> <li>Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialist colleagues to embed movement and health education into broader learning where appropriate.</li> <li>Monitor and assess student progress in Physical Education, providing meaningful feedback to support development and growth.</li> <li>Uphold and actively model the Catholic identity, values, and ethos of the school in all professional interactions and practices.</li> <li>Engage in ongoing professional learning aligned with the MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.</li> <li>Play an active role in establishing the culture and identity of St Marianne Cope Catholic Primary School as a foundation staff member.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Relevant tertiary qualifications in Primary Education.</li> <li>Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).</li> <li>Experience in teaching Physical Education at the primary school level is highly desirable.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, students, and families.</li> <li>Commitment to child safety and wellbeing.</li> </ul> <p><i>St Marianne Cope Catholic Primary School is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all children.
