<p><strong>Are you passionate about sparking curiosity, problem-solving, and innovation in young learners?</strong></p>
<p>The STEM Teacher will play a foundational role in establishing and leading the school’s specialist STEM program on <strong>Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (0.6), commencing Term 1 2026</strong>. This role offers a unique opportunity to design and implement an engaging, inclusive STEM curriculum from the ground up that inspires creativity, builds skills, and celebrates student achievement. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the specialist team, uphold the Catholic ethos of the school, and align their practice with MACS’ Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with students that support wellbeing, motivation, and confidence in learning.</li>
<li>Create safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environments that promote curiosity and a growth mindset.</li>
<li>Design and implement a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate STEM curriculum for primary-aged students that encourages inquiry, creativity, and critical thinking.</li>
<li>Deliver engaging and inclusive STEM lessons that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in meaningful and age-appropriate ways.</li>
<li>Collaborate with other specialist and classroom teachers to integrate STEM learning across the curriculum where appropriate.</li>
<li>Assess, monitor and report on student learning and progress using a variety of tools and strategies, including digital platforms.</li>
<li>Use current technologies and digital tools effectively to enhance student learning in STEM.</li>
<li>Uphold and promote the Catholic identity, ethos and values of the school in all interactions and teaching practices.</li>
<li>Actively engage with the<strong> </strong>MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement, and participate in relevant professional learning and school improvement initiatives.</li>
<li>Contribute to the establishment of a positive, innovative, and collaborative school culture as a foundation staff member.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications & Experience</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Relevant tertiary qualifications in Primary Education.</li>
<li>Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).</li>
<li>Experience in teaching STEM at the primary school level is highly desirable.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, students, and families.</li>
<li>Commitment to child safety and wellbeing.</li>
