<p>Macarthur is an independent Anglican co-educational Transition (Pre-Kindergarten) to Year 12 school with a strong academic and co-curricular focus, catering to students of all ability levels. It is located in picturesque Cobbitty on over 85 magnificent acres, 50 minutes from the CBDs of Sydney and Wollongong. The School is highly regarded as an employer of choice and provides a supportive workplace that pursues excellence and innovation.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Headmaster seeks to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced Christian educator to this full-time permanent position within the highly professional, dynamic, and industrious Social Sciences Faculty. The successful applicant will be required to teach Stages 4, 5 and 6 Geography and at least one of Stage 6 Legal Studies or Stage 6 Business Studies. The ability to teach Economics and other subjects in the Social Sciences Faculty and Society and Culture would be a distinct advantage.&nbsp;</p> <p>The staff of Macarthur are beneficiaries of well-resourced facilities, an Apple laptop computer (for the duration of employment) and a supportive Christian teaching environment.</p> <p>Candidates for this role will be required to demonstrate:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>&nbsp;a passion for teaching and a deep knowledge of the various syllabus documents taught within the Faculty;&nbsp;</li> <li>a particular passion for Geography, Legal Studies and/or Business Studies;&nbsp;</li> <li>an innovative approach to teaching and learning;&nbsp;</li> <li>an understanding of and commitment to student well-being;&nbsp;</li> <li>well-developed written, oral and organisational skills;</li> <li>a comprehensive understanding of classroom differentiation;&nbsp;</li> <li>a commitment to detailed and timely feedback to students; and,</li> <li>a deep understanding of how students think and learn.</li> </ul> <p>The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate innovative use of ICT in teaching and learning, proficiency in writing teaching programmes, and an understanding of best practices in student assessment and feedback.
