St Francis Xavier Primary School is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment inspired by Catholic values. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Officer to join our team, focused on the holistic development and safety of our students. This fixed-term position is for 2025 with a possiblity of further employment.

<p><strong><u>Role Description/Criteria</u></strong></p> <p>The contract position is a 5 days a week position with working hours of 8:30 - 3:15 for the remainder of the 2025 school year. This may lead to an ongoing position in the future. This is subjuct to ongoing NCCD funding.</p> <p>Applicants need to have a keen interest in supporting and working with special needs students and a particular love of bridging the gap of these students.</p> <p>The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate their ability to work as a collborative team member with our Learning Diveristy Leader, Literacy/Intervention Leader, classroom teachers, specialist teachers and other LSOs in our school community.</p> <p><strong><u>Applicants for this position should demonstrate:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>a commitment to Catholic Education and the wellbeing and safety of students</li> <li>appreciation and understanding of the Catholic ethos</li> <li>uphold the Catholic ethos and values of St Francis Xavier's School in all interactions</li> <li>an ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional learning team</li> <li>an ability to form positive relationships and maintain open and effective communication with students, parents and colleagues</li> <li>a commitment to the Child Safety policy of the school</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>The successful applicant will:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>take directions from and report to the Learning Diveristy Leader, ILiteracy/Intervention Leader, classroom teachers to implement a students Personal Learning Plan</li> <li>liaise regularly with teaching staff with regard to student needs</li> <li>assist students either individually or in a group</li> <li>be flexible in dealing with the changing, challenging and diverse needs of individual special needs students&nbsp;</li> <li>have a current Working with Children Check</li> <li>have a Certificate IV in Education Support but not essential</li> </ul>
